About Us
The Village Panchayat of Ambelim is situated in the Salcete Taluka of South Goa District. It has population of 2853 app, with 1355 app. Males and 1498 females population as per Census 2011.
The Panchayat consist of 07 wards and has 07 elected representatives. (Male 03, Female 04). There are 02 households of
SC and 325 households of STs.
The Panchayat has 1 Government Primary school at Goenchembhat which is closed. There are 03 AWC with around 30-40 children’s at Goenchembhat, Capleamvaddo and Pedda. Ambelim village is partly surrounded by River Sal on one side and also has areas of Khazan lands. It has 02 streams, one water lake/pond. Fishing is the main profession of the village.
